Aynaghor: Poor drama staged by Prof Yunus administration to portray captive cells

Being under severe criticism for gross human rights violations, autocracy, and unlawful activities, the interim government led by US puppet Prof Muhammad Yunus has staged a poor drama to describe what they call aynaghor or solitary confinements and torture cells of security forces in Bangladesh during the Awami League’s 15-year rule.

Some victims and journalists who are not linked to this jihadist-backed government, however, allege that the photos and claims made by the Chief Adviser show false and concocted elements.

Yunus, some of his pro-Islamist advisers, members of radical Jamaat-e-Islami and journalists funded by USAID and NED, visited three places in Dhaka, and later they shared dozens of photos of the places on social media handles.

The exhibition coincided with the release of the United Nations report on July-August violence in Bangladesh. Many wonder why the autocratic government took six months to construct the rooms, which look like sets for movies, popularly dubbed Aynaghor.

Before going into a detailed analysis of their false and funny statements, I’d like to mention that Prof Yunus alleged there are 700-800 such confinements across the country and that the Awami League falsely tagged Islamists as militants and kept them there.

It’s true that all governments allow solitary confinements for dangerous criminals and terrorists, but the intentional blame on the Awami League regime exposes the Yunus administration’s vengeance.

It should be mentioned that the interim government hasn’t probed any terrorist acts perpetrated by the July-August protesters (read anarchists) in the last six months and instead awarded indemnity. It hasn’t also brought to book any protester for the incidents of robbery, looting and arsons.

Meanwhile, the security forces responsible for over two dozen extrajudicial killings and custodial deaths have been enjoying impunity. Despite that, the government earlier this week launched Operation Devil Hunt and the joint forces have arrested over 4,000 people.
